About the Role

King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH) in Riyadh is seeking a dedicated Firefighter to join its safety team. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring the protection of hospital staff, patients, and guests, as well as safeguarding property from fire and other potential disasters. The Firefighter will actively participate in various rescue operations and contribute to maintaining critical safety systems across the hospital and housing compounds.

Key Responsibilities

The Firefighter is responsible for immediate emergency response, effective operation of firefighting and rescue equipment, and proactive fire prevention measures. This role requires a commitment to maintaining a safe environment and adhering to established safety protocols.

• Respond promptly to emergencies and disasters within the Hospital and housing compound.
• Quickly address Code Red, Code Blue, Lift Intercom Communications, fire alarms, and other control room monitoring system alerts.
• Operate firefighting and rescue equipment efficiently.
• Fight and extinguish fires using appropriate equipment, including water pumps and extinguishers.
• Handle, connect, and lay hose lines from hydrants and equipment to the scene; transport equipment and tools as needed.
• Raise and climb ladders, navigate roofs and floors, and move into fire areas, including confined spaces and stairs.
• Drive emergency vehicles to perform tasks and respond to critical situations.
• Relocate individuals from danger, including transporting unconscious victims to safety.
• Coordinate effectively with other firefighters as a member of the crew.

Preventive Maintenance and Readiness

• Perform preventive maintenance on firefighting equipment and systems throughout the Hospital and housing compounds.
• Clean and maintain department equipment and structures, including walls, floors, fire hoses, and personal protective equipment, ensuring readiness for immediate use.
• Conduct periodic inspections and testing of firefighting equipment and systems.
• Provide "Fire Watch Standby" for hot work performed by maintenance personnel.
• Maintain personal physical fitness consistent with department standards.
• Follow all orders and directives from assigned supervisors and perform duties professionally, effectively, and confidentially.

Qualifications and Experience

• High School Certificate with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in Firefighting, Safety, or any related field.
• Alternatively, a Two (2) years Diploma in Firefighting/Safety or equivalent from an accredited institute.
• Certification from the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), or equivalent training is essential.
