Fleet and Tahreez HSE Officer

About the Role

Khalid Ali Alturki & Sons Company (Alturki Holding) is seeking a Fleet and Tahreez - HSE Officer for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role is primarily field-oriented, supporting geophysical exploration activities in remote locations across Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will maintain a strong field presence, interact daily with crews, and ensure disciplined HSE monitoring and timely reporting.

Work Environment

This position is not office-based and involves working in challenging environments including desert, rocky, and mountainous terrain. It requires long travel times, walking to inaccessible locations, exposure to extreme heat, and operating with limited communication infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain active HSE coverage during various field activities (ANT, MT/AMT, Gravity, Magnetic), identifying unsafe acts/conditions and ensuring controls are implemented.
• Support and review Risk Assessments, JSA/Method Statements, Take-5 / field-level assessments, and Journey Management Plans, confirming access constraints and terrain difficulty.
• Monitor work in remote terrain, including areas with difficult vehicle access, steep slopes, and long walking distances, verifying appropriate PPE, water, communications, and emergency equipment.
• Implement heat-stress controls, monitor environmental conditions, hydration, rest, and recovery, and identify signs of heat illness or fatigue, escalating fitness-for-work concerns.
• Verify vehicle readiness, recovery equipment, first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, drinking water, and communications, monitoring journey management and 4x4 driving risks.
• Confirm functionality and charge of satellite phones, Garmin/inReach, radios, or other approved devices, supporting scheduled field check-ins and escalating missed check-ins.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and practical HSE awareness training on topics such as heat stress, fatigue, manual handling, emergency response, and difficult-terrain work.
• Support medical emergencies, lost-person events, vehicle incidents, and other field emergencies in line with the Emergency Response Plan, participating in drills.
• Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly, supporting investigations, evidence collection, and corrective actions.
• Conduct routine checks of field activities, vehicles, PPE, accommodation/camp areas, stores, emergency equipment, and communication devices, monitoring compliance with FTJV, client, and Saudi requirements.
• Prepare clear daily, weekly, and monthly HSE records and reports in English, covering inspections, observations, toolbox talks, training, incidents, and corrective actions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous experience as an HSE Officer / Safety Officer in a field-based environment.
• Experience in remote field, desert, mining, exploration, geophysics, construction, or oil & gas operations is strongly preferred.
• Sound understanding of risk assessment, JSA, journey management, heat-stress controls, emergency response, incident reporting/investigation, and PPE requirements.
• Physically capable of frequent outdoor work, remote travel, and walking over difficult terrain.
