Food Safety Specialist

About the Role

Farm Frites Egypt is seeking a Food Safety Specialist to join their team in Rawdhat Sudair, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is essential for ensuring that all food products are processed, packaged, and prepared in strict adherence to established food safety standards, whether internal company policies or regulatory requirements.

Role Purpose

The Food Safety Specialist is responsible for upholding and enhancing food safety standards across the company's operations. This involves overseeing compliance with various certifications and implementing robust programs to mitigate risks and ensure product integrity from processing to packaging.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement 5S methodology within food safety departments and initiate corrective and preventive actions for any deviations, in collaboration with relevant departments.
• Ensure the implementation of Farm Frites' Integrated Management System and verify its compliance with ISO 9001/2015, 14001/2015, HACCP, OHSAS 18001, ISO 22000, BRC, and customer requirements.
• Monitor the Food Defense Program and confirm its ongoing effectiveness.
• Conduct internal reviews for ISO 9001/2015, 14001/2015, HACCP, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 22000, issuing corrective and preventive actions and reporting them to management for review meetings.
• Verify that all workers receive adequate training before commencing work.
• Regularly review product descriptions and flow diagrams for all products.
• Follow up on corrective action reports to ensure they are based on thorough root cause analysis.
• Implement routine lethality validation programs in accordance with Farm Frites' requirements.
• Verify Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) for equipment handling allergen-containing foods and specific sanitation activities designed to mitigate allergen cross-contact.
• Collaborate on completing gap analyses of the facility against housekeeping and sanitation standards.
• Assist in developing plans to update current Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS), SSOPs, and create missing SSOPs to be more detailed (What, when, who, how), supported with images.
• Implement a pathogen environmental monitoring program (pEMP) for target pathogens of concern, including baseline risk assessment of all facility areas to define the pEMP starting stage.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in food safety or quality assurance.
• Demonstrated understanding and practical experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, HACCP, OHSAS 18001, ISO 22000, and BRC standards.
• Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
