General Technician

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a General Technician to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position is crucial for maintaining the operational integrity and guest comfort within our facilities. The role requires a professional with 2-5 years of relevant experience in technical maintenance and facility operations.

Core Technical Responsibilities

The General Technician will be responsible for a range of critical technical tasks, ensuring all systems operate efficiently and safely. Key duties include:

• Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining HVAC, air quality control, and refrigeration equipment.
• Maintaining and conducting daily inspections of the mechanical plant.
• Monitoring and controlling property temperature, and analyzing energy and utilities usage.
• Calibrating all controls, gauges, meters, and other essential equipment.
• Assembling, installing, testing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and electronic wiring.
• Assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe assemblies, fittings, and valves.
• Performing routine maintenance for pools and spas.

Operational Compliance and Efficiency

This role involves strict adherence to company standards and a proactive approach to operational improvements. Responsibilities include:

• Following all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
• Completing required safety training and certifications.
• Ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards.
• Identifying, recommending, developing, and implementing new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings.

Professional Conduct and Guest Interaction

The General Technician is expected to uphold professional standards in all interactions and maintain a high level of integrity. This includes:

• Ensuring uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets.
• Welcoming and acknowledging all guests according to company standards and anticipating and addressing guests’ service needs.
• Communicating with others using clear and professional language.
• Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues and responding appropriately to their concerns.

Physical Demands

This role requires physical capability to perform various tasks in different environments. Candidates must be able to:

• Reach overhead and below the knees, and move in confined or elevated spaces.
• Navigate over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, and move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight.
• Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing objects weighing in excess of 100 pounds.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.

Additional Duties

The General Technician will also perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors to support the overall operational needs of the facility.
