About the Role

CAE is seeking a Group Leader, Technical Operations, to establish and lead the technical operations supporting Riyadh Air’s new training centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading a maintenance team in a new training environment, focusing on the readiness, reliability, and regulatory compliance of advanced flight simulation training equipment. The position requires 5-10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of training equipment at the customer site.
  • Ensure all training devices operate according to certification standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer regarding technical and operational queries.
  • Ensure consistent achievement of internal, customer, and Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance and quality metrics/KPIs.
  • Monitor defect and interrupt counts, addressing them appropriately through corrective and preventive measures.
  • Generate operational rosters and ensure sufficient coverage.
  • Recruit and hire new staff to meet operational deliverables and manpower requirements.
  • Report and communicate serious technical, staff, or customer-related concerns to upper management.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for technical operations staff.
  • Communicate operational and organizational information effectively and transparently.

Performance, Quality, and Compliance

  • Foster a workplace culture aligned with the organization's mission, vision, principles, and values, emphasizing safety and technical excellence.
  • Promote harmonious staff relations and teamwork to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Prioritize occupational safety and health in the workplace.
  • Oversee compliance with the CAE Global Environmental policy.
  • Provide direction for staff development through training, coaching, mentoring, and task assignments.

Project Management

  • Coordinate the planning, scheduling, and execution of new installations, updates, and device qualification processes.

Customer Satisfaction and Regulatory Requirements

  • Collaborate with customers to ensure high service levels for their training operations.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, project managers, customer service representatives, and regulators.
  • Plan annual recurrent evaluations with regulatory authorities in coordination with the Quality and Compliance Manager.
  • Prepare and oversee the operation and team for successful initial and recurrent certifications of training devices.
  • Ensure timely submission of all evaluation update reports to the relevant authority.
