About the Role

CAE Inc. is seeking a Group Leader, Technical Operations to establish and manage the technical operations supporting Riyadh Air’s new training centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading a maintenance team responsible for the readiness, reliability, and regulatory compliance of advanced flight simulation training equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team performing preventive and corrective maintenance on training equipment at the customer site.
  • Ensure all training devices operate according to certification standards.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customer technical and operational queries.
  • Achieve internal, customer, and Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance and quality metrics/KPIs, tracking and addressing deviations.
  • Manage the performance of the TCOPS team and the quality of training devices based on contractual terms.
  • Generate operational rosters and ensure sufficient coverage.
  • Recruit and hire staff to meet operational deliverables and manpower requirements.
  • Report serious technical, staff, or customer-related concerns to upper management.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for technical operations staff.
  • Foster a workplace culture aligned with organizational mission, vision, principles, and values.
  • Promote staff relations and teamwork to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Prioritize occupational Safety and Health and ensure compliance with CAE Global Environmental policy.
  • Oversee staff development through training, coaching, mentoring, and task assignments.
  • Coordinate planning, scheduling, and execution of new installations, updates, and device qualification processes.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, project managers, customer service representatives, and regulators.
  • Plan annual recurrent evaluations with regulatory authorities and prepare the team for successful initial and recurrent certifications.
  • Ensure timely submission of evaluation update reports to authorities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Ability to multitask and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to make timely decisions on technical and HR matters, considering operational, technical, and budgetary factors.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a teamwork environment and empower employees.
  • Excellent leadership skills to motivate and develop direct reports.
  • Strong customer orientation and ability to maintain effective customer relationships.
  • Capability to prepare work plans, schedules, and allocate resources to meet objectives.
  • Strong technical knowledge of FSTD hardware and software, including motion, visual, avionics, hydraulics, flight dynamics, and aircraft systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of various aircraft types (Commercial Jetliners, Business Jets, Helicopters).
  • Superior understanding of aircraft and training device terminology.
  • Advanced understanding of Commercial and Business Aviation training.
  • In-depth knowledge of local and international regulations (EASA, FAA) pertaining to FSTDs.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
