Head of HR Workmen

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Head of HR – Workmen to manage human resources functions for workmen involved in solar EPC projects. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and focuses on labour welfare, compliance, recruitment, employee relations, and performance management. The role ensures effective implementation of HR policies and initiatives, fostering a productive and harmonious work environment for workmen across project sites in GCC Countries.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the recruitment process for workmen across multiple solar EPC project sites and coordinate with site managers to identify labour requirements.
• Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring new workmen are inducted into company policies, safety procedures, and project requirements.
• Act as the primary contact for workmen-related queries, fostering positive relationships and mediating between workmen, management, and stakeholders.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to welfare initiatives, including health and safety, accommodation, and transportation, and handle conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant labour laws, contracts, and statutory requirements, maintaining accurate records of workmen.
• Liaise with legal experts on labour-related issues and oversee the payroll process for accurate and timely payment of wages and benefits.
• Identify skill gaps and collaborate with training departments to organize relevant programs, promoting safety training and continuous learning.
• Develop and implement performance management strategies, set clear expectations, evaluate performance, and recommend recognition programs.
• Ensure workmen adhere to safety standards and regulations on-site, monitoring health and safety performance and mitigating risks.
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to workmen’s attendance, performance, issues, and resolutions, providing regular updates to senior management.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on workmen management.
• Demonstrated experience in labour welfare, compliance, recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
• Strong understanding of labour laws and statutory requirements in GCC Countries.
• Proven ability to manage HR functions for a large workforce across multiple project sites.
