Head of Infrastructure (Application) Unit

About the Role

Riyad Bank is seeking a Head of Infrastructure (Application) Unit to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves guiding and controlling the secure and effective utilization of operating systems and Cloud platforms through continuous monitoring, problem-solving, and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement approved departmental policies, processes, and procedures, providing instructions to subordinates and monitoring adherence.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations for the Product Development function to ensure compliance with established standards.
• Provide input for departmental budget development and monitor performance against approved levels within the function.
• Ensure accurate, effective, and timely installation and migration of operating system components, configurations, and applications.
• Direct and control the implementation/migration process of Cloud components for accurate installation with minimal business interruption.
• Execute efficient delivery of online, batch, and e-services computing facilities according to requests.
• Set key performance indicators for operating systems in cooperation with banking operations to facilitate performance evaluation and improvements.
• Guide continuous monitoring of operating systems, servers, databases, and applications to enhance reliability, availability, and proactive issue resolution.
• Direct daily assistance and support to end-users for effective system operation.
• Identify potential malfunctions in operating system efficiency and guide the implementation of solutions to restore efficiency according to banking standards and SLAs.
• Control accurate connectivity of required hardware and devices for effective utilization of systems and applications.
• Ensure databases of all operating systems are secured, monitored, and available to relevant parties.
• Control and guide the development of contingency and data recovery plans, providing necessary systems infrastructure.
• Monitor and control the implementation of operating system tests and perform required configurations or changes to enhance efficiency.

Team Leadership and Development

• Organize and supervise the activities of a team of subordinates to ensure efficient and compliant work within the department.
• Ensure all staff have clear objectives, regular performance feedback, annual appraisals, and individual development plans, with emphasis on Saudi national staff development.
• Facilitate the employment, training, and development of Saudi nationals within the organization.

Continuous Improvement and Reporting

• Contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices, considering international best practices, cost reduction, and productivity.
• Prepare timely and accurate departmental reports to meet bank and department requirements, policies, and standards.
• Represent the function and contribute to various internal and external committees/meetings as applicable.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience is required for this role.

• Comply with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls.
• Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.
