About the Head of Operations Role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a Head of Operations for a contract position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This critical role is responsible for the comprehensive end-to-end operational performance of the subsidiary, encompassing spares distribution, technical support, training, Part 145 maintenance and repair activities, equipment repair, and contract management.

Role Purpose and Operational Scope

The Head of Operations ensures operational excellence, strict regulatory compliance, and the cultivation of a robust safety culture across all activities. The position also plays a key role in supporting the development of multi-service support offers tailored for customers throughout the region, aligning operational plans with business objectives and customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all operational functions, including spares distribution, technical support, Part 145 workshop activities, equipment repair, and training delivery.
• Drive performance through defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), structured governance, and regular operational reviews.
• Ensure the Part 145 maintenance organization operates in full compliance with applicable civil and military airworthiness regulations.
• Oversee technical support activities, ensuring timely and high-quality resolution of customer requests, and maintain strong relationships with airworthiness authorities.
• Manage efficient spares distribution processes, ensuring inventory accuracy and on-time delivery, alongside overseeing equipment repair operations to meet turnaround times and quality standards.
• Ensure training programs (technical, operational) are delivered to required standards and support customer capability development, coordinating with relevant partners.
• Oversee contract execution, ensuring all deliverables, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and commercial terms are met.
• Support the development and structuring of multi-service support offers (*, bundled MRO, training, spares, technical support packages) in collaboration with Sales and Business Development teams.
• Champion a strong safety culture, implement robust risk management, incident reporting, and continuous improvement processes.
• Build and maintain structured, documented processes and procedures across all operational domains, ensuring consistency, auditability, and scalability.
• Manage, coach, and develop operational team leads and their respective teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over 10 years of experience in Support & Services, ideally within the Aeronautics sector.
• Significant experience in MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) or aviation operations management, preferably in a helicopter or complex technical environment.
• Strong knowledge of Part 145 requirements and airworthiness regulatory frameworks.
• Proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary operational teams, including technical, logistics, and training functions.
• Experience in contract management and supporting the development of commercial and service offers.
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering a strong safety culture and implementing structured operational management.
