Maintenance & Engineering Safety Officer

About the Role

flynas is seeking a Maintenance & Engineering Safety Officer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position reports directly to the Director of Safety and is responsible for ensuring the highest safety standards across all maintenance and engineering operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance manuals comply with GACA and IOSA safety standards and regulations.
• Verify strict adherence to safety SOPs by all maintenance employees as documented in the maintenance manual.
• Ensure all maintenance staff assigned airside strictly follow ramp safety procedures.
• Report maintenance-related incidents and accidents to GACA and AIB within 48 hours of occurrence.
• Upload all documents and reports pertaining to maintenance incidents to the safety system regularly and without delays.
• Follow up with GACA and AIB on reported occurrences and provide necessary support.
• Investigate maintenance safety incidents, accidents, and special occurrences during flight.
• Conduct safety risk assessments for all maintenance hazard reports and provide recommendations and corrective actions to the maintenance department.
• Determine and analyze hazardous conditions, assigning appropriate risk assessment codes.
• Evaluate hazardous conditions through safety observations and walk-arounds.
• Monitor corrective actions, recommend preventive measures, and analyze safety trends.
• Conduct maintenance inspections and assessments to identify safety deficiencies in maintenance operations.
• Ensure that corrective and preventive actions are implemented at the root-cause level for all inspection nonconformities and findings, in an acceptable manner and within reasonable timeframes.
• Gather, compile, analyze, and summarize data from regular checks to identify trends and present findings to the VP Safety & Quality.
• Prepare reports and analyze monthly ramp statistics for aircraft damage and incidents.
• Produce quarterly trend reports for the Safety Action Group.
• Prepare and conduct maintenance safety awareness programs to enhance staff awareness and prevent aircraft incidents and accidents.
• Prepare and disseminate maintenance safety memos and bulletins.
• Implement safety culture and housekeeping practices to ensure efficient and safe maintenance operations at the home base and outstations.
• Prepare maintenance SMS training material and assist in training maintenance staff on the Flynas SMS.
• Monitor and analyze safe working practices related to maintenance operations.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by the VP Safety & Quality.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in maintenance and engineering safety within the aviation industry.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, requiring active participation in ensuring safety across maintenance operations at both the home base and outstations.
