About the Opportunity

Nesma Infrastructure & Technology is seeking a Planning Engineer (Substations V) to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 5 to 10 years of experience and focuses on comprehensive project planning and scheduling, particularly within the substations sector.

Role Overview

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules and planning structures. This role involves close coordination with various project functions to ensure timely execution and adherence to contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, establish, and maintain the project's planning work breakdown structure and schedule hierarchy.
  • Implement milestone schedules and develop and maintain comprehensive management schedules.
  • Monitor engineering progress and oversee procurement and construction monitoring activities.
  • Maintain the quality and contractual compliance of all project schedules.
  • Participate in project-related meetings and collaborate closely with Construction, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Controls teams.
  • Maintain liaison and coordination with the Planning Unit Manager / Planning Section Head to effectively manage workload.

Schedule Management and Reporting

  • Update the Revised Works Program, Internal Target Schedule, Time-Change, and all associated schedules within the project schedule hierarchy.
  • Report regularly on schedule progress and status to relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform detailed schedule analysis, conduct studies, and engage in problem-solving activities related to project timelines.
  • Provide comprehensive schedule reporting and present schedule information as required.
  • Review project schedule data, Pending Items, and Prime Contract Letters to ensure accuracy and alignment.
  • Support schedule time impact analysis for claim development and analysis, covering prime and subcontract scope, extension of time, delay, and disruption claims.
  • Ensure awareness of all project activities that may impact the prime contract and uphold compliance with its terms and conditions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience in a planning engineering role.
  • Experience with Electrical Substations and Civil construction is considered a significant advantage.

Work Environment

This role operates within a dynamic project environment, requiring close collaboration with various departments including Construction, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Controls. The Planning Engineer will be an integral part of project teams, contributing to the successful delivery of infrastructure projects.
