About the PMO Commercial Manager Role

Mace is seeking a PMO Commercial Manager to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves contributing to a major mixed-use development, supporting regional and international clients on various projects and programmes. The role focuses on ensuring commercial consistency and robust financial oversight within a complex programme environment.

Project Context

The programme in Riyadh encompasses over 200 projects, including cultural and heritage assets, F&B establishments, retail spaces, hotels, commercial buildings, and educational facilities. Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to support clients across diverse project types, ranging from residential and commercial buildings to infrastructure development and transactional advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring consistency of cost control and reporting across multiple projects within the programme.
  • Support the oversight of cost planning, benchmarking, cost reporting, cashflow reporting, procurement and contract reporting, and claims reporting.
  • Chair monthly commercial review meetings.
  • Maintain and improve cost control databases to accurately track and manage actual costs.
  • Contribute to setting and maintaining project control budgets aligned with approved benchmarks.
  • Track and monitor project accruals and commitments against set budget constraints.
  • Prepare project forecasts, including estimated work to complete (ETC) and estimate at completion (EAC).
  • Monitor contingency and exposure related to risk events and residual project risks.
  • Support project change control processes, ensuring alignment with agreed baselines and data structures.
  • Identify and report on key project trends that can inform proactive commercial decisions and future change controls.
  • Assist in the roll-out of commercial processes, training materials, and assurance frameworks.
  • Contribute to audits and reviews to ensure compliance with established standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree combined with solid experience in large-scale mixed-use developments, including hospitality, residential, and cultural projects.
  • A background in working within a Programme Management Office (PMO) or on complex, multi-stakeholder programmes.
  • Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and relevant work experience on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, as required for immigration and client approval.
  • In-country experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is preferred.

Essential Skills and Technical Competencies

  • Good data management and analytical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables).
  • Experience with PowerPivot, PowerQuery, and DAX is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with PMIS platforms and reporting tools, particularly Power BI.
