The Role of Power System Planning Expert

EGI is seeking a Power System Planning Expert to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves contributing to the analysis and enhancement of power system planning methodologies. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience in power systems. Responsibilities will be determined based on the candidate's competencies and expertise, and will be discussed during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyzing and defining planning principles for power systems.
• Defining and validating power system models.
• Enhancing methodologies for planning power systems, considering massive renewable energy sources (RES) and battery energy storage systems (BESS) integration, demand evolution, and transmission investment optimization.
• Mastering links with technico-economic models to define critical operating points.
• Conducting steady-state analysis, including load flow, short circuit calculations, and hosting capacity.
• Performing dynamic stability analysis, covering frequency, transient, and voltage stability.
• Supporting the analysis and evaluation of grid reliability and security, such as capacity calculation, balancing, and operational planning.
• Writing reports to present analysis results.
• Supporting the company’s business development teams by identifying and pursuing opportunities, establishing client relationships, and developing proposals.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in power system planning or a related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in power system analysis techniques.
• Ability to contribute to business development activities.
