Product Quality Engineer(Electrical)

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Product Quality Engineer (Electrical) to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves ensuring the quality and compliance of electrical products throughout their lifecycle, from incoming inspection to final handover. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience in product quality assurance and control within the electrical domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and implement Quality Control Plans (QCP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
• Ensure electrical products comply with project specifications and international standards.
• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of electrical components and systems.
• Monitor product quality metrics and identify areas for improvement.
• Conduct inspection and testing of switchgear (LV/MV/HV), transformers, auxiliary systems, cables, terminations, panels, and power electronics equipment (*, PCS, inverters).
• Witness and review Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) reports.
• Verify calibration and proper use of testing instruments, ensuring adherence to IEC, IEEE, and other applicable standards.
• Identify and document Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), perform root cause analysis using tools such as 5-Why and Fishbone diagrams, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Track the closure of quality issues and ensure their effectiveness.
• Conduct vendor inspections and quality audits, evaluate supplier quality performance, and coordinate with manufacturers to resolve quality issues.
• Ensure materials and equipment meet required quality standards before dispatch.
• Prepare and review inspection reports, test reports, quality dossiers, and handover documents.
• Maintain proper quality records and traceability, and generate periodic quality performance reports and dashboards.
• Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE/UL standards, project technical specifications, and company quality policies.
• Support internal and external quality audits and ensure QA/QC processes align with ISO quality systems.
• Identify opportunities for process and product quality improvement, support implementation of quality improvement initiatives, and enhance inspection and testing procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 10 years of experience in product quality assurance, specifically with electrical components and systems.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing Quality Control Plans and Inspection & Test Plans.
• Proficiency in conducting inspections and testing for various electrical equipment.
• Experience with non-conformance management, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Familiarity with vendor quality management and supplier evaluation.
• Strong understanding of relevant international standards such as IEC, IEEE, and UL.
