About the Role

Al Watania For Industries is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on ensuring that products consistently meet customer and industry standards. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing environments, specifically within Plastic, CAN Making (Steel & Metal), or Paper products.

Role Overview

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality control processes across various manufacturing stages. This involves detailed inspections, monitoring product quality, and addressing any deviations or non-conformances to uphold rigorous quality standards. The role is critical in ensuring product integrity and customer satisfaction within Al Watania For Industries' diverse product lines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final product inspections and testing.
  • Monitor product quality using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and respond promptly to deviations.
  • Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, and 8D.
  • Implement and follow through on Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) until closure.
  • Maintain quality systems including ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, or BRCGS, and support internal and external audits.
  • Manage the calibration of measuring and testing equipment.
  • Accurately record inspection results, quality reports, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Materials Engineering.
  • 1 to 7 years of hands-on quality experience in Plastic, CAN Making (Steel & Metal), or Paper manufacturing is mandatory.
  • Good knowledge of product testing methods such as seam teardown, top load, leak, burst, ECT/BCT, and dimensional checks.
  • Working knowledge of quality tools including SPC, FMEA, and Control Plans.
  • Willingness to work shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internal Auditor certification.
  • Experience with food-contact packaging standards.
  • Experience with SAP QM or similar systems.

Work Environment

This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves working within a manufacturing environment. The role may require working in shifts to support continuous operations.
