About the Opportunity

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Riyadh is seeking a Research Management Consultant, Research Administration. This full-time role involves providing senior counsel and strategic support for the development and implementation of management processes, programs, policies, plans, and systems within the Research Centre. The consultant will play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall effectiveness and efficiency of research management practices.

Role Purpose and Strategic Contribution

This position is central to enhancing the management practices of the Research Centre. The consultant will provide expert advice to the Executive Director and Department Chairmen on administrative matters, conduct thorough research into viable management systems, and lead significant administrative projects. The role demands a strategic approach to improving operational efficiency, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring the overall productivity of research initiatives within the hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Director, Research Centre, in advising on all issues pertinent to the administration of the Research Centre.
• Conduct research and provide recommendations on viable management systems and concepts for adoption by the Research Centre.
• Act as a senior team leader in major Research Centre Administration projects, as directed by the Executive Director.
• Advise Department Chairmen on project planning, conducting studies/projects, developing implementation plans, and coordinating with concerned Hospital departments.
• Coordinate the development of management information systems to improve efficiency in Research Centre Administration.
• Provide advice on the presentation, allocation, and monitoring of the Research Centre budget and resources.
• Analyze data for measuring departmental productivity against institutional cost and recommend decisions regarding future budget and resource allocation.
• Maintain liaison with key organization management staff as required.
• Take a lead role in the recruitment of staff within the Research Centre.
• Supervise sections and conduct performance evaluations of assigned staff.
• Assist the Executive Director, Research Centre, in conducting special projects.
• Serve on committees as assigned by the Executive Director, Research Centre.
• Maintain knowledge of current trends in the specialty and make recommendations for continuous improvement, such as maximizing utilization of research resources.
• Lend technical experience and support in the specialty to all departments within the Research Centre.
• Review documents/files and inform/advise on related significant issues.
• Participate in department/unit specific and Hospital-wide quality improvement plans (preferred).
• Follow all Hospital-related policies and procedures.
• Participate in self and other’s education, training, and development, as applicable.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• A PhD with a minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in the field of management, OR a Master’s Degree with a minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in the field of management.
• A minimum of four (4) years of managerial or supervisory experience in similar duties and functions within a hospital setting or a large public organization is required.
