The Opportunity

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Road Engineer Roads and Highway to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves supervising and managing road construction activities, ensuring projects adhere to specified quality standards and designs. The Road Engineer plays a crucial part in the successful execution of infrastructure projects within the region.

Key Responsibilities

The Road Engineer will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of road construction, including:

Supervising daily road construction works, including excavation, subgrade preparation, Granular Sub-Base (GSB), sub-base layers, and asphalt paving.
Reviewing engineering drawings and ensuring their correct implementation on site.
Coordinating activities effectively with survey, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), and safety teams.
Monitoring the quality of materials, efficiency of equipment usage, and production rates.
Preparing and submitting daily progress reports, highlighting any technical issues encountered.
Assisting in the planning and implementation of traffic management schemes and temporary diversions.
Ensuring all construction activities comply with AASHTO, ASTM, and specific project standards and specifications.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this position should possess the following:

A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in road construction supervision and management.
Demonstrated ability to supervise earthworks, pavement layers, drainage, utilities, and traffic diversions.
Proficiency in reviewing technical drawings and ensuring site implementation accuracy.
Familiarity with industry standards such as AASHTO and ASTM.
Strong coordination, monitoring, and reporting skills.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working on-site to supervise road construction activities and collaborate with various project teams.
