Senior High Voltage Engineer (EOI)

SJ Group is inviting Expressions of Interest from experienced Senior High Voltage Engineers for upcoming full-time energy and infrastructure projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves providing technical leadership for the design and delivery of high-voltage power systems.

Role Overview

The Senior High Voltage Engineer will lead the technical aspects of high-voltage power systems, encompassing transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and major infrastructure projects. This position requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience in the field, focusing on design and technical assurance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of HV and EHV substations, including AIS and GIS systems.
Prepare and review substation layouts, single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and technical specifications.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, utilities, contractors, and stakeholders.
Undertake protection studies, equipment selection, and design reviews.
Support procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and technical assurance activities.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and designers.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in high-voltage power engineering.
Strong experience in AIS/GIS substations and protection design.
Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, utility standards, and grid code requirements.
Experience with transmission, distribution, renewable energy, or major infrastructure projects.

Required Skills

Strong technical leadership abilities.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
Previous project experience in the Middle East or Saudi Arabia is highly desirable.
