The Senior QC Engineer Role

The Senior QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring quality and technical compliance in the servicing of rotating equipment, including pumps, turbines, and compressors. This role involves upholding Sulzer OEM, customer, and international standards, while actively supporting inspection processes, repair solutions, and quality procedures. The engineer will provide essential technical feedback, prepare detailed inspection reports, and contribute to the development and implementation of required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections of rotating equipment and components.
• Prepare and review overhaul reports, including technical recommendations.
• Develop work instructions, engineering drawings, and repair methods based on inspection findings.
• Maintain comprehensive job packs, checklists, inspection records, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Prepare and execute Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
• Provide technical quality support, including the review of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and material selection.
• Perform dimensional, geometric, and disassembly inspections.
• Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), encompassing Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and lessons learned.
• Coordinate and oversee Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and specialized testing activities with third-party providers.
• Ensure the calibration, control, and traceability of all inspection equipment.
• Support operations and projects by providing progress updates and resolving technical issues.
• Train staff on quality standards and actively support LEAN initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Ensure strict compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations, quality procedures, and 5S practices.
• Promote a safe, clean, and positive work environment within the facility.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance role, preferably within the rotating equipment industry.
• Demonstrated ability to ensure technical compliance and adherence to OEM, customer, and international standards.
• Proven experience in conducting various types of inspections and preparing detailed technical reports.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Strong understanding of quality procedures, standards, and repair methodologies for rotating equipment.
• Proficiency in preparing and executing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Knowledge of WPS/PQR review, material selection, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) coordination.
• Experience with NCR management, including RCA and CAPA implementation.
• Familiarity with LEAN principles, continuous improvement, and 5S practices.
• Commitment to EHS compliance and fostering a safe work environment.
