About WSP and the Role

WSP is a consultancy specializing in site supervision for road, tunnel, highway, and bridge projects within the construction industry. We are seeking a Senior Road Engineer to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves leading and overseeing the delivery of road infrastructure projects, applying technical expertise and project management skills.

Role Overview

The Senior Road Engineer will be responsible for the successful execution of road infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to client requirements, regulatory standards, and industry best practices. The role requires a minimum of 15 years of experience in road engineering, with a focus on site supervision within the construction consultancy sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and development of road infrastructure projects, including alignment studies, geometric design, pavement design, and drainage design.
• Conduct feasibility assessments, traffic impact analyses, and risk assessments to inform design decisions.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance during the construction phase, including regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance.
• Implement quality assurance and control measures to ensure safe and efficient execution of construction activities.
• Develop and implement traffic management plans and safety measures to minimize disruptions and ensure safety for all stakeholders.
• Monitor traffic flow, signage, and temporary diversions, addressing issues to maintain smooth and safe roadway operations during construction.
• Engage with clients, stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and communities to understand project needs and expectations.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, providing regular updates and technical presentations.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, tracking progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to achieve project objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in road engineering, with a focus on site supervision within the construction consultancy sector.
• Professional engineering license or equivalent certification preferred.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in road design, construction, and maintenance, including relevant standards, codes, and regulations.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and road engineering analysis tools.

Required Skills

• Strong project management skills, including the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, and adhere to schedules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering road infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on safety, quality, and innovation.
• Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
