We are seeking a Senior Specialist, Lab Technician II to join our team in Riyadh on a full-time basis.

Role Purpose

The Senior Specialist, Lab Technician II will execute specialized laboratory and technical activities to drive high-impact outcomes within Mining & Minerals Processing. This role directly supports innovation initiatives, process improvements, and operational performance. The position contributes to Ma'aden’s Technology & Innovation strategy by providing accurate testing, analysis, and technical insights essential for process development and optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct laboratory testing, experiments, and sample analysis in accordance with defined procedures and standards.
Prepare samples, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and storage, and record, validate, and analyze test results to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Support metallurgical, mineral processing, and technical teams through laboratory-based insights and data.
Assist in the execution of R&D and pilot testing programs for new processes and materials, contributing to process optimization by providing accurate and timely test results.
Operate laboratory equipment, ensuring proper usage and adherence to safety practices.
Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments, ensuring all equipment is functional, safe, and compliant with operational requirements.
Analyze laboratory results and prepare comprehensive reports for technical and operational stakeholders.
Identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities based on test data, maintaining proper documentation of test results, methodologies, and findings.
Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards, environmental policies, and operational procedures.
Follow quality control protocols and ensure testing accuracy and consistency, supporting audits and adherence to regulatory and governance requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve laboratory processes, testing methodologies, and efficiency.
Support the implementation of best practices and new technologies in laboratory operations, contributing to innovation and process improvement initiatives within the function.
Collaborate with metallurgists, engineers, and technical teams to support integrated delivery.
Share knowledge, results, and insights with stakeholders to support decision-making, and contribute to documentation, standardization, and knowledge management.

Qualifications and Experience

A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a laboratory or technical role, preferably within the mining, minerals processing, or a related heavy industry sector.
