The Role: Senior Technical Manager

Mace is seeking a Senior Technical Manager to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position focused on leading integrated technical teams within a major development programme. The role involves overseeing technical aspects across various project phases and ensuring compliance with established standards.

Project Context

This position is part of a significant programme in Saudi Arabia, involving a major mixed-use development. The project encompasses sports facilities, entertainment venues, arts infrastructure, and all associated supporting infrastructure. Mace operates as one of the key delivery partners for this large-scale initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver annual business plan outcomes within agreed deadlines and budgets.
• Lead and manage technical resources, providing direction, guidance, and oversight for project and programme activities.
• Present management reviews and key performance indicators (KPIs) to project and functional leadership teams.
• Support business development, work-winning initiatives, and the delivery of technical training and capability development programmes.
• Ensure compliance with management systems, technical governance requirements, project standards, and defined roles and responsibilities.
• Act as the primary focal point for design-related matters and drive improvements to design management processes and delivery plans.
• Influence procurement strategies, contractual and legal considerations, and collaborate with PMO teams to ensure coordinated project delivery.
• Promote technical excellence, leverage organisational knowledge networks and centres of excellence, and support net zero carbon objectives through proactive carbon management and reduction initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree level education in Engineering, Environmental Science, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent).
• Extensive experience in technical leadership, engineering management, design management, or infrastructure delivery on major projects.
• Strong understanding of technical governance, assurance processes, risk management, and multidisciplinary project coordination.
