About the Role

The Saudi Investment Bank is seeking a Specialist Sanctions Screening to join their team in Riyadh. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with local and international sanctions regulations and mitigating financial crime risks within the bank's operations. The Specialist will be an employee responsible for conducting thorough sanctions screenings across various banking activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic sanctions screening for customers and related parties to identify potential sanctions violations.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of screening systems, based on the verification of sanction list matches.
• Review sanctions screening alerts and cases, taking appropriate actions within applicable Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Maintain current knowledge of local and international sanctions/embargoes laws and regulations to assess and implement necessary changes.
• Execute the delta batch screening process to ensure efficient and accurate incremental updates to screening databases, minimizing delays and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Perform screening of new onboarding requests for accounts and products to promptly identify potential sanctions violations or high-risk entities, ensuring regulatory compliance prior to customer onboarding.
• Conduct screening of transactional activities to promptly detect and investigate suspicious or potentially sanctioned/embargoed transactions, ensuring adherence to regulatory obligations and effective mitigation of financial crime risks.

Operational Duties

• Utilize allocated resources efficiently to complete tasks according to defined standards and within process boundaries.
• Comply with established policies, processes, and procedures to ensure work accuracy and consistency.
• Address simple, recurring issues independently while escalating complex challenges to appropriate stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies in routine activities.
• Actively participate in pre-defined development initiatives, leveraging organizational resources to enhance skills and knowledge.

Additional Responsibilities

The Specialist Sanctions Screening may be assigned additional duties and responsibilities through the bank’s process as deemed necessary to support the overall objectives of the department and the institution.
