About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Riyadh is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse I for a full-time position within Nursing Staffing & Scheduling. This role is central to providing comprehensive nursing care, utilizing the nursing process, and ensuring adherence to established standards of nursing practice and performance. The Staff Nurse I is also expected to demonstrate leadership competencies when in charge or serving as a shift resource or team leader, requiring 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Patient Care Responsibilities

  • Provide total patient care as assigned, adhering to core standards of patient care, established policies, and evidence-based practices.
  • Assume accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, including discharge planning for each patient.
  • Document all relevant information correctly, appropriately, and in a timely manner.
  • Report equipment failures, safety and security issues, and/or reduction of supply inventory to the Head Nurse or designee.

Quality Improvement and Collaboration

  • Contribute to decreasing the length of stay/waiting time in line with unit-specific goals.
  • Work in collaboration with Case Management to achieve patient care goals.
  • Demonstrate collaborative multi-disciplinary partnerships to achieve constant improvement in quality patient care.
  • Act as an advocate for patients and their families.
  • Identify ideas to improve the quality of patient care and address issues that may negatively affect patient care outcomes, utilizing the professional practice framework.
  • Promote a safe environment and safe patient care by embracing a safety culture and identifying areas of risk to the Head Nurse or designee.
  • Comply with policies for personal and patient safety and for the prevention of healthcare-associated infections.
  • Contribute to the achievement of cost efficiency savings on the unit and maintain awareness of resource utilization, exercising care in the ordering and use of staff, equipment, and materials.
  • Contribute to the achievement of clinical quality outcome indicators and patient satisfaction.
  • Lead unit-based Performance Improvement activities as assigned.

Professional Development and Mentorship

  • Participate in new staff and nursing student orientation to develop competence and performance.
  • Assist in maintaining a suitable learning environment and act as a preceptor/mentor in the supervision and teaching of nursing students and new staff.
  • Demonstrate transcultural principles in nursing practice.
  • Contribute to special projects and assignments linked to nursing strategic priorities and the professional practice model as assigned.
  • Assist in promoting and sharing knowledge through mentorship, aligned with relevant research and evidence-based practice.
  • Follow all Hospital-related policies and procedures.
  • Participate in personal and other's education, training, and development, as applicable.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse Licensure from country of origin is required.
  • Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Licensure is required.

Work Setting

This is a full-time position based at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
