Steel Structure Estimation Engineer

About the Role

Alashoury industry is seeking a Steel Structure Estimation Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is essential for preparing comprehensive cost estimations for steel structure fabrication projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client specifications and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare material take-offs (MTO) based on engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and client technical documents.
• Calculate material weight and surface area for various structural profiles.
• Estimate material costs, considering material grade, connection bolts, anchor bolts, leftover materials, and scrap.
• Determine production man-hours per ton, overall production duration, and associated production costs based on structure complexity and fabrication requirements.
• Calculate painting material and labor costs, or hot-dip galvanizing costs, as applicable.
• Estimate indirect expenses and administrative overheads for projects.
• Calculate packing and transportation costs for finished products.
• Prepare unit costs and total project costs.
• Apply appropriate profit margins to calculate final unit rates and the total project price.

• Prepare detailed techno-commercial offers, covering:

  • Scope of work
  • Material specifications, including fasteners
  • Fabrication and welding procedures
  • Inspection and QA/QC requirements
  • Material finishing requirements
  • Installation procedures
  • Commercial terms and pricing
  • Exclusions
• Coordinate effectively with other departments, including Sales, Design, Production, Procurement, Planning, and QA/QC, to ensure comprehensive and accurate estimations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. Other engineering disciplines are not preferred for this role.
• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in the steel structure fabrication industry.

Work Environment

This position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and operates on a full-time schedule within the Alashoury industry team.
