The Role of Structural Manager

We are seeking a Structural Manager to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position responsible for leading and managing all structural engineering activities for assigned projects or specific project phases. The role requires a professional with a strong technical background and proven leadership capabilities to ensure project success and compliance with engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all structural engineering activities for the assigned project or phase.
  • Review and approve structural shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, Requests for Information (RFIs), and technical proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with approved Issued For Construction (IFC) drawings, project specifications, international standards, and local codes.
  • Coordinate with architectural, MEP, infrastructure, roads, landscape, BIM, and construction teams to resolve multidisciplinary interface issues.
  • Provide technical support to the site team during construction and promptly resolve structural engineering issues.
  • Monitor engineering deliverables to ensure reviews are completed within contractual timelines.
  • Identify design discrepancies, constructability issues, and technical risks, and propose practical engineering solutions.
  • Attend technical coordination meetings with the Client, Consultant, Designer, and Contractor.
  • Review structural design changes, value engineering proposals, and field modifications.
  • Monitor structural engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), engineering progress, and submission status.
  • Ensure proper implementation of approved structural details during construction.
  • Support quality assurance activities and ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures.
  • Mentor and supervise structural engineers and technical staff.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering assessments, and management presentations.
  • Support project handover activities, including the review of As-Built drawings and final documentation.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in structural engineering and project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex structural engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of international standards, local codes, and project specifications.
  • Proficiency in reviewing technical documents, drawings, and proposals.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills for effective multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Proven problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving engineering issues.

Work Environment and Team Collaboration

The Structural Manager will work within a dynamic project environment, collaborating extensively with various internal and external stakeholders including architectural, MEP, infrastructure, and construction teams, as well as clients, consultants, designers, and contractors. This role is integral to ensuring the structural integrity and successful delivery of projects.
