Teaching & Learning Excellence Center Lead

About the Role

Riyadh University of Arts (جامعة الرياض للفنون) is seeking a Teaching & Learning Excellence Center Lead to provide strategic, academic, and operational leadership for the development and advancement of institutional teaching and learning excellence. This full-time position, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is responsible for establishing a sustainable framework for educational enhancement and strengthening faculty teaching capabilities.

Role Purpose and Impact

The Lead will promote evidence-informed pedagogical practices, advance innovative learning approaches, and foster a culture of continuous academic improvement. The role involves leading institution-wide initiatives to enhance teaching effectiveness, improve student learning experiences and outcomes, and support the achievement of institutional strategic priorities, quality assurance requirements, and international standards of excellence in higher education.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the Center's strategic and operational plans.
• Establish institutional frameworks, policies, and guidelines for teaching and learning excellence.
• Design and oversee comprehensive faculty professional development programs, including structured pathways and professional recognition initiatives.
• Lead the adoption of evidence-informed teaching and learning methodologies, promoting student-centered and active learning.
• Advance the integration of educational technologies, digital learning, and artificial intelligence in teaching.
• Provide strategic oversight and guidance on curriculum enhancement and instructional design initiatives.
• Establish mechanisms to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning initiatives, including performance indicators and evaluation frameworks.
• Promote the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and encourage faculty engagement in educational research.
• Oversee the Center's operational activities, resources, and assigned personnel, managing institutional stakeholders and coordinating cross-functional projects.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant professional experience is required for this role.
• Demonstrated leadership in educational development and innovation within higher education.
• Experience in designing and implementing faculty development programs.
• Proficiency in integrating educational technologies and contemporary instructional design principles.
• Ability to establish and manage quality assurance and evaluation frameworks for teaching and learning.
