The Role: Technical Studies Simulator and Support Manager

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Technical Studies Simulator and Support Manager for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role is central to managing the Superintendent PCU operators for Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Weapons Director (WD) simulations, ensuring realistic training scenarios across Aerodrome, Non Radar Approach Control, Radar Approach Control, and Air Defence Operations. The Manager will provide critical support to the Head of Technical Studies Training, the Manager Air Traffic Control Training, and the Manager of Weapons Director Training in the overall administration and management of the Technical Studies Training Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the production and evaluation of Technical Studies Training (TST) simulator exercises in collaboration with TST Instructional Staff and TST Pilot Control Unit (PCU) Operators.
• Oversee the training of the Saudi National Technical Training Program (SNTTP) for TST PCU Operators, from Ab-Initio to Qualification stage.
• Direct conversion training for PCU Operators within Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Weapons Director (WD) Simulator operations.
• Lead the preparation of timetables, scheduling, and allocation of TST PCU Operators using TMIS and FlighPro Systems.
• Manage all TST Simulator updates as provided by the manufacturer and apply company procedures for configuration control of examinations and results.
• Develop and maintain the database of TST training results to support continuous assessment of RSAF Officer Cadets.
• Manage in-house demonstrations of TST simulator operations, including Aircraft and Vehicle Models, Airspace Data, Weather, and operational exercises.
• Manage the training and induction of Saudi Nationals into TST PCU Operator roles, ensuring adherence to ICAO, GACA, and RSAF TST procedures.
• Administer the acquisition, allocation, maintenance, and use of training resources, including textbooks, workbooks, classrooms, laboratories, and training devices.
• Direct and lead TST simulator operators to foster an environment that encourages independent learning and a military ethos.
• Manage and conduct annual Electronic Personnel Development Reviews (E-PDR) for Superintendent PCU Operators ATC/WD.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Expert knowledge and extensive proven experience in ATC or WD Simulator Management and Operations at the King Faisal Air Academy (KFAA) within Air Traffic Control / Weapons Director Training Departments.
• Proven experience as a Superintendent PCU Operator in either ATC or WD simulations at the Technical Studies Squadron is essential.
• Demonstrated ATC Simulator Operations trainer experience within ATC Simulations at an Academic, Aviation Training Organization, or Air Navigation Service Provider.
• Completion of an Instructional Techniques Course.
• Extensive proven Operational Simulator experience as a PCU Operator ATC superintendent within ATC training disciplines (2D/3D Visual Tower, Radar Approach Control, and Non Radar Approach Control Simulator operations) within the last three years.
• Knowledge and experience of ATC Regulations, Procedures, and Flight Deck Operations.
• Extensive proven Operational Simulator experience as a PCU Operator WD Superintendent within WD Simulator training disciplines, with substantial proven experience.
• Demonstrated WD Simulator Operations trainer experience within WD Simulations at an Academic, Aviation Training Organization Provider.
• Knowledge and experience of WD Regulations, Procedures, and Flight Deck Operations.
• Previous service at the KFAA as a Superintendent PCU Operator for both ATC and WD is highly valued.

Training Administration and Compliance

This role involves managing procedures and processes to meet the mandates of the KFAA Academic Wing Examination Control and Records Office, while also adhering to KFAA Study and Test Regulations. The Manager will be responsible for managing and controlling the examination records of Royal Saudi Air Force Trainees, Air Traffic Controller, and Weapons Director Officer Cadets. Furthermore, the role requires supporting Technical Studies Simulator Technicians in their duties, maintaining accurate and accessible training records using the TMIS / LMS system, and administering feedback to management to enhance service performance and responsiveness. Compliance with BAE Systems SHE policy, processes, and Duty of Care responsibilities is also a key administrative function.
