About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Forward Armament Technician Supervisor to join their team in Taif. This full-time position involves carrying out armament aircraft maintenance activities and supervising the consolidation training (On-the-Job Training) of assigned Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) Technicians and Saudi National BAE Systems Trainees. The role supports the RSAF Typhoon Flying programme, aiming to achieve contracted Operational Ready Rates in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform armament aircraft maintenance, including detailed troubleshooting and rectification.
  • Execute flight line duties as directed.
  • Raise Technical Publication Review Forms (TPRF) against approved data.
  • Assist in raising Technical Requests (TRs) for aircraft anomalies.
  • Support the work centre Supervisor in ensuring accurate shift handovers.
  • Adhere to tool control procedures and use only approved data.
  • Implement good husbandry practices.
  • Hold 2nd signature authority.
  • Provide 100% supervision to assigned RSAF or BAE Saudi National Trainee Technicians at level ‘A’.
  • Supervise and provide consolidation training and mentoring to assigned RSAF or BAE Systems Saudi National personnel for 1st signature (Technician) award.
  • Offer training guidance and mentoring to nominated RSAF or BAE Saudi National personnel for 2nd (Supervisor) signature award.
  • Provide Supervisory 2nd Signature (oversign) for engineering and maintenance tasks performed by RSAF or BAE Systems Saudi National personnel during consolidation training (OJT) on operational aircraft.
  • Maintain accurate log books for assigned RSAF or BAE Saudi National technicians.
  • Liaise with RSAF and BAE Systems management to identify training opportunities or highlight potential shortfalls.
  • Support the production of monthly progress reports on training progression.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Essential: Extensive post-qualification, practical maintenance experience (+10 years) within an operational flying aircraft environment, supported by formal recorded workplace applied training OR substantial Typhoon experience.
  • Essential: Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to supervise engineering personnel at all levels.
  • Essential: A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, a technical apprenticeship, or an equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA.
  • Essential: Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment-specific training if required.
  • Essential: Saudi Engineering Council (SEC) Registration.
  • Desirable: Thorough understanding of company processes and procedures.
  • Desirable: Broad aerospace and defence company/industry knowledge.
  • Desirable: Proven supervisory experience within the area of definition.
