Faculty Position in Bioengineering

King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) invites applications for full-time faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level within the Bioengineering Department. This opportunity is based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and is open exclusively to qualified Saudi nationals holding a PhD degree.

About the Bioengineering Department

KFUPM is recognized as a leading engineering university in the Middle East, dedicated to providing exceptional education in bioengineering. The Bioengineering Department is a new and rapidly expanding academic unit, currently offering both Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Master of Science (MSc) degrees in bioengineering and life sciences.

Key Responsibilities

Faculty members are expected to contribute actively to the department's academic mission. Professional duties typically require approximately 35-40 hours per week and include:

• Delivering high-quality teaching to undergraduate and graduate students.
• Conducting impactful research in relevant bioengineering fields.
• Providing academic advising and mentorship to students.
• Undertaking administrative duties as assigned by the department.
• Performing any other academic duties required by the concerned academic department.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following essential criteria:

• Hold a PhD degree in Bioengineering or a closely related field.
• Be a Saudi national.

Areas of Expertise

The department is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following research areas:

• Bioinformatics: Biomarkers Discovery, Biologics Design, Personalized Medicine, Artificial Intelligence (AI).
• Biosystems: Biodevices, Diagnostic Assays, Biosensors, BioMEMS, Medical Technologies.
• Biomaterials: Nanomedicine, Drug Delivery Systems, Nanovaccines, Tissue Engineering.
