About the Role

Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Pharmacist to join its team in Dhahran. This full-time role is central to ensuring the safe and effective dispensation and comprehensive medication management across assigned JHAH premises, contributing directly to patient care and operational continuity.

Role Purpose and Impact

The Pharmacist plays a critical role in maintaining the continuity of patient care and medication stock. This involves meticulous review of prescriptions for accuracy and safety, providing essential counseling to patients on medication use and potential side effects, and monitoring patients' medication therapy. The position requires active collaboration with other healthcare providers to optimize patient safety and clinical outcomes within the JHAH framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process all applicable medication order-related functionalities, including order verification, pharmacokinetics dosing, therapeutic monitoring, narcotic stewardship, and antimicrobial stewardship.
  • Attend clinical rounds and provide patient-centered pharmaceutical care in both decentralized and centralized settings, alongside patient counseling.
  • Ensure proper documentation of medication review notes, progress notes, workload, and operational reports.
  • Perform pharmacotherapeutic interventions and other patient care-related functionalities as mandated by operational need or management directives.
  • Execute sterile and non-sterile compounding related functionalities according to JHAH operational policies.
  • Manage medication stock continuity, including regular replenishment, narcotic stewardship, robotic maintenance, shelf and unit floor stock inspection, maintenance, and addressing shortages by suggesting alternatives.
  • Provide general didactic and practical education to pharmacy staff, interns, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in JHAH pharmacy branding activities such as publishing articles and posters, serving as a speaker in conferences, and engaging in community awareness initiatives.
  • Set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergent continuity of care situations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Education Required: A recognized Pharm D or Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy by Saudi Arabia or an equivalent qualification.
  • Professional Certifications Required: A valid SCFHS license.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of pharmaceutical experience is required.
