Senior Planner

About the Role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Planner to join their Program Management Consultancy team. This full-time position is based on-site in Al Ula, Al Madinah, and supports the PMC Development Stage (RIBA 0-4) for high-profile projects within Saudi Arabia. The role requires 5-10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop initial baseline schedules with limited project information, leveraging previous experience in pre and post-contract schedule development for construction projects.
• Assist in preparing and managing overview and strategic programs, including design, procurement, and construction schedules, along with supporting information.
• Incorporate all project stages from initiation to completion in the baseline and identify stage gates.
• Coordinate and manage the preparation and development of master planning, engineering, procurement, and construction schedules.
• Establish and agree upon project reporting procedures, and prepare and present monthly project progress reports.
• Develop project and program dashboard templates for use by designers and contractors.
• Review schedules and related documents from designers and contractors, including monthly reports, to ensure compliance with project objectives.
• Analyze schedule trends to identify problem areas, recommend corrective actions, and monitor actual progress against planned progress.
• Monitor engineering design progress, material and equipment procurement, and construction and commissioning status.
• Prepare progress monitoring tools using earned value for schedule management and monitoring, identifying deviations and suggesting corrective actions.
• Collaborate with the Project Controls Manager and Project Team to ensure program feasibility and compliance with the Project Master Plan and contractual documents.
• Interface daily with designers, PMCs, main contractors, sub-contractors, and internal management.
• Conduct studies into scheduling, manpower, cash flow, and material flow as required.
• Attend offsite meetings as requested by the client.
• Review schedules for slippage of key dates and assist in the defense/approval of claims for time extensions or major schedule changes.
• Establish and maintain consistent and adequate administration procedures in the planning field, ensuring adherence across the project by respective planners.
• Participate with the program management team, as directed by the Project Controls Director, to achieve project deliverables.
• Involve key stakeholder requirements and approvals in the baseline.
• Issue high-level weekly schedule updates and identify and report issues interfering with progress.
• Identify and report on measures for improving schedule performance.
• Establish scheduling and reporting procedures, tools, templates, and instructions to standardize work across the program.
• Monitor the timing of submittals against schedule requirements and develop and monitor program KPIs.
