Terminal Supervisor

About the Role

SPARK Logistics is seeking an experienced Terminal Supervisor to join their team in Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to ensuring safe and efficient terminal operations, overseeing daily activities, and managing personnel and equipment to facilitate smooth cargo handling and movement.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise employees, contractors, and visitors, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards.
• Support the optimization of Gate and Yard strategies and operations.
• Oversee yard allocations, equipment assignments, and operational readiness.
• Monitor on-ground operations to ensure timely and efficient execution.
• Coordinate with Customs for cargo inspections, holds, scanning activities, and related requirements.
• Manage special cargo handling, including projects, hazardous materials, and damaged cargo.
• Monitor equipment utilization and operator efficiency to minimize downtime.
• Track crane productivity, yard capacity, and overall operational performance.
• Address congestion and operational delays through timely corrective actions.
• Participate in workforce planning, rostering, and employee performance reviews.
• Monitor operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), identify gaps, and recommend improvements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in terminal operations, including direct experience within a container terminal, port, dry port, or inland container depot (ICD).
• Demonstrated supervisory or team-leading experience in terminal or intermodal terminal operations is required.
• In-depth knowledge of container terminal operations, including yard management, gate operations, container handling, and cargo operations.
• Proficiency in Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) and knowledge of container handling equipment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, industry standards, and compliance requirements related to terminal operations.

Preferred Certifications

Relevant certifications such as Terminal Operating System (TOS) and/or Certified Port Executive (CPE) are preferred for this position.
