About the Role

Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) is seeking a Crane Electrical Engineer to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is crucial for ensuring the reliable operation of Quay Cranes (QC) and Yard Cranes (YC) through expert maintenance services. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Role Purpose and Objectives

The Crane Electrical Engineer will provide hands-on maintenance services for Quay Cranes and Yard Cranes. This involves planning, supervising, and controlling the work of an assigned team to achieve operational and departmental priorities. A core objective is to maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, productivity, and equipment reliability across all crane operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and service electrical and control systems for cranes.
• Identify and classify electrical and electronic components.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain generator sets.
• Plan and prepare materials, tools, and resources required for maintenance activities.
• Apply Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) rules and regulations diligently.
• Manage time, manpower, and maintenance resources effectively.

Technical Competencies

• Understanding of life cycles and failure modes of electrical and electronic components.
• Proficiency in medium-voltage electrical installations and power distribution systems.
• Skill in selecting and using electrical tools, testing instruments, and measuring devices.
• Ability to use computer-based diagnostic software for troubleshooting.
• Competency in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) programming and commissioning.

General Skills and Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in a relevant electrical engineering role, demonstrating strong practical skills in crane maintenance. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, is required. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is also essential for this role.

Working Environment

This position is primarily office-based but involves frequent visits to operational and maintenance areas. The working conditions include outdoor work, often in hot weather, and exposure to industrial elements such as grease, oil, cleaning chemicals, and other contaminants. Occasional exposure to high-noise environments and work in areas with limited lighting may occur. The mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required while performing field duties.
