About the Role: Geotechnical Engineer

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our full-time supervision consultancy team. This position is based in Jeddah, within the Makkah Region, and is integral to a major transport infrastructure project. The role focuses on overseeing geotechnical works, ensuring design compliance, and providing essential technical support throughout the construction phase.

Project Context and Objectives

As a key member of the project team, the Geotechnical Engineer will contribute to the successful delivery of a significant transport infrastructure development. This involves a comprehensive approach to geotechnical aspects, from initial design review to on-site supervision, ensuring all works meet stringent project specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve geotechnical design reports, soil investigations, and foundation recommendations.
• Supervise site activities related to geotechnical works, including piling, shoring, excavation, and ground improvement.
• Ensure all works are executed in accordance with project specifications, standards, and approved drawings.
• Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and stakeholders on all geotechnical matters.
• Monitor construction progress and provide technical guidance to resolve site issues.
• Review method statements, material submittals, and inspection requests.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare comprehensive technical reports.
• Ensure continuous compliance with safety and quality standards across all geotechnical activities.

Candidate Profile and Experience

This full-time position requires a Geotechnical Engineer with 5-10 years of proven experience in geotechnical engineering, particularly within large-scale infrastructure projects. Candidates must demonstrate strong technical expertise and a thorough understanding of geotechnical design principles and construction practices relevant to transport infrastructure.
