About the Role

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a highly experienced Senior Planning/Scheduling Engineer to join its Site Supervision team. This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, and supports major transport, roads, and infrastructure utilities projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, delay analysis, and reporting throughout the construction supervision phase.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure successful project delivery in accordance with contractual requirements and project objectives. This involves rigorous oversight of contractor schedules and performance, providing critical planning recommendations, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and validate contractor baseline programmes and schedule submissions.
  • Monitor construction progress against approved schedules and identify deviations, risks, and recovery opportunities.
  • Assess contractor resource allocation, productivity trends, and schedule performance.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and executive schedule summaries.
  • Conduct schedule impact assessments, delay analyses, and extension of time evaluations.
  • Review and verify contractors' look-ahead programmes and recovery schedules.
  • Monitor key project milestones, critical paths, and interface activities across multiple disciplines.
  • Support Resident Engineers and Project Managers with planning-related recommendations.
  • Evaluate contractor claims associated with time impacts and schedule changes.
  • Participate in project progress meetings and provide planning advice to project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with project controls procedures, contractual obligations, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary supervision teams covering roads, utilities, traffic, and infrastructure works.
  • Maintain accurate project controls records and programme documentation throughout project execution.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in planning and scheduling roles, preferably within major transport, roads, and infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and delay analysis.
  • Experience in reviewing and validating contractor submissions and managing project controls documentation.

Work Environment

This role is part of a site supervision team, supporting projects in Jeddah, Makkah. It involves working within a multidisciplinary team environment, collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
