About the Role

WSP is seeking a Technical Translator to join its team in Jeddah. This full-time position requires a highly skilled professional to provide accurate and high-quality Arabic-English translation services for technical, engineering, infrastructure, and project-related documentation. The role is integral to supporting large-scale engineering and construction projects within a consultancy environment.

Role Context and Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring linguistic accuracy and consistency across all project materials. This involves working closely with various project teams to accurately convey complex technical concepts and maintain the integrity of sensitive information. The role demands excellent linguistic skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate technical, engineering, contractual, and project-related documents between Arabic and English.
• Review and proofread translated materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project terminology.
• Translate reports, specifications, correspondence, meeting minutes, presentations, policies, and procedures.
• Support project teams with interpretation and language assistance during meetings and workshops when required.
• Maintain consistency in technical terminology across all project documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and technical specialists to ensure translations accurately convey technical concepts.
• Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive project information.
• Assist in preparing bilingual communications for clients, stakeholders, and government authorities.
• Develop and maintain translation glossaries and terminology databases.
• Support document control and project administration teams as required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 5-8 years of professional translation experience.
• Proven experience translating technical and engineering documentation.
• Previous experience within engineering consultancy, construction, infrastructure, or project management environments.
• Strong understanding of technical terminology related to infrastructure, transportation, utilities, and construction projects.

Essential Skills and Tools

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and translation tools.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and work under tight deadlines.

Work Location and Regional Experience

This is a full-time position based in Jeddah. Experience working within the GCC region is preferred for this role.
