About the Role

International Maritime Industries is seeking a Superintendent HVAC Commissioning to join their team in Ras Tannurah, Eastern Region. This full-time role involves overseeing all aspects of HVAC pre-commissioning and commissioning for new-build offshore jack-up drilling rigs. The successful candidate will ensure safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient HVAC system operation, achieving operational readiness and successful client acceptance in line with project specifications and regulatory standards.

Role Purpose

The primary objective of this position is to manage the planning, coordination, execution, testing, startup, performance verification, and handover of HVAC systems. This includes accommodation, machinery, technical, hazardous area, and ventilation systems, ensuring they meet project delivery objectives and comply with classification society requirements and offshore regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee pre-commissioning, commissioning, functional testing, startup, and performance verification of HVAC systems across various areas, ensuring operational readiness and compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and control HVAC commissioning procedures, inspection checklists, test packages, and schedules to ensure systematic execution and timely achievement of project milestones.
  • Oversee the inspection, testing, calibration, and operational validation of HVAC components such as AHUs, chillers, compressors, fans, blowers, dampers, louvers, VFDs, and control systems.
  • Manage the integration and functional verification of HVAC automation systems, control panels, monitoring systems, interlocks, and fire and gas interfaces.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with engineering, construction, QA/QC personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and client representatives.
  • Lead engagements with classification societies, regulatory authorities, and client representatives during inspections, testing, audits, and approvals.
  • Ensure all HVAC commissioning activities adhere to HSE requirements, permit-to-work processes, hazardous area regulations, SOLAS, IMO, and classification society standards.
  • Lead troubleshooting, defect identification, punch-list management, corrective actions, and performance optimization activities.
  • Oversee the preparation and control of commissioning dossiers, test records, inspection reports, ITRs, mechanical completion documentation, RFCC/RFOC certificates, and acceptance records.
  • Direct FAT, SAT, final acceptance testing, system turnover, as-built documentation, and handover activities to ensure successful client acceptance and transition to operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in HVAC commissioning, preferably within the offshore or maritime industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex HVAC systems for new-build projects.
  • Strong understanding of project specifications, classification society requirements, and offshore regulatory standards.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Ras Tannurah, Eastern Region, focusing on offshore jack-up drilling rig projects. The role requires coordination with various internal and external stakeholders in a dynamic industrial setting.
