About the Role

Edition is seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis to join our culinary team in Inak, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience and involves executing a range of culinary tasks to ensure high standards of food preparation and kitchen operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining food quality and supporting efficient kitchen workflows.

Core Culinary Responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items as required by recipes or guest requests.
• Regulate the temperature of cooking equipment, including ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Manage food thawing processes by retrieving items from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishing of all food items according to presentation standards.
• Maintain accurate food logs and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared.
• Communicate effectively with the team, requesting assistance during busy periods and informing the Chef of excess food for daily specials.
• Liaise with Food & Beverage service staff regarding menu specials and out-of-stock items.
• Prepare and cook food in strict adherence to established recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists, including cold foods.

Operational and Team Support

• Support management in various operational tasks, including assisting with training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees, serving as a role model.
• Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures, reporting any maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance at all times.
• Protect company assets and maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Anticipate and address guest service needs, communicating professionally with guests and colleagues.
• Foster positive working relationships with team members, supporting collective goals and responding appropriately to colleagues' concerns.
• Ensure consistent adherence to quality expectations and standards across all tasks.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods during shifts.
• Capability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a similar culinary role.
• Preferred: A Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree in a relevant culinary or hospitality field.
