Cook III

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Cook III to join the team in Makkah, Mecca, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves preparing and cooking food items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring a high level of food preparation and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and proper storage of food items.
• Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables, and accurately weigh, measure, and mix ingredients.
• Cook food according to specified recipes, quality standards, presentation guidelines, and food preparation checklists.
• Prepare cold food items and operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Test foods to ensure they are cooked sufficiently and monitor food quality throughout the preparation process.
• Set up and break down the work station, and serve food in correct portions using appropriate receptacles.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment, while also checking and ensuring correct temperatures of appliances and food.

• Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
• Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance, ensure confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues, foster positive working relationships, and support team goals.
• Listen and respond appropriately to concerns from other employees and ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or for an entire work shift.
• Capability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: High school diploma or * equivalent.
• Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required for this role.
• License or Certification: None specified.
