Role Summary

The Health and Safety Officer will ensure the effective development and implementation of school health and safety plans within a school setting. This full-time role is responsible for preparing and implementing the school site safety and health plan, providing local guidance and support to all stakeholders to ensure health and safety practices align with both domestic and international standards. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily health and safety inspections on site to ensure a hazard-free environment, preparing weekly reports and monthly work for the monthly scorecard.
• Perform risk assessments and enforce preventative measures across all school campuses.
• Inspect firefighting and alarm systems, follow up with contractors, and conduct equipment inspections to ensure correct installation and operational status.
• Apply precautionary measures in accordance with Ministry of Health instructions for infectious diseases.
• Develop emergency plans and conduct mock drills each semester, providing staff training and leading exercises on managing emergency situations.
• Conduct safety awareness programs for students and all staff within schools.
• Investigate accidents and near-misses within incident areas, taking immediate and further actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Organize toolbox meetings and orientation for new employees, as well as ongoing staff training.
• Identify training needs and communicate them to management.
• Ensure proper traffic management within the site and outside during road work.
• Supervise clinics and ensure that clinic equipment needs are met.
• Oversee the work of school safety committees.

Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in a health and safety role.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and manage health and safety plans.
• Familiarity with domestic and international health and safety standards.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, with responsibilities extending to locations such as Jeddah. The role involves working within a school setting, collaborating with various stakeholders to maintain a safe environment.
