Role Overview

Petromin Corporation is seeking a PDI Stockyard Technician for a full-time position based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct thorough pre-delivery inspections, ensuring all vehicles meet established quality standards before being dispatched to dealerships. This involves detailed assessments of mechanical functionalities, safety features, and cosmetic conditions, with a focus on preparing vehicles for customer delivery and upholding the company's reputation for quality.

Core Responsibilities: Pre-Delivery Inspection

• Perform comprehensive pre-delivery inspections and related activities.
• Inspect vehicles for visible damage, missing major components, and loose or misaligned items such as trim, doors, and hardware.
• Record all identified discrepancies and acknowledge acceptance slips for each delivered vehicle.
• Execute repairs and replace defective items with efficiency and accuracy, adhering to dealership and factory standards.
• Ensure proper documentation and charging of warranty repairs.
• Conduct test drives to evaluate steering, brakes, transmission, and engine operation.
• Activate power equipment, including electric windows, seats, radio, horn, lights, and directional signals, to confirm specified operating standards.
• Inspect vehicle surfaces for minor chips and scratches in paint, performing touch-ups using brush applicators and factory-supplied matching paint.
• Install optional equipment as specified by the customer or dealer, and install standard components.
• Pour antifreeze into radiators according to seasonal requirements.
• Tune engines using appropriate technician tools and test equipment.
• Install or repair major mechanical, hydraulic, or electromechanical equipment such as radios, air conditioners, power steering units, and power brakes, utilizing hand tools.
• Wash, polish, and clean the exterior and interior of vehicles.
• Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of inspection findings, test results, and all work performed on each vehicle.
• Complete pre-delivery inspection checklists and documentation in strict accordance with company procedures and industry standards.
• Report regularly to higher management, providing timely updates on pre-delivery inspection activities and status.

Quality Assurance and Safety Compliance

• Ensure all vehicles consistently meet the quality standards and specifications set by the manufacturer.
• Identify and promptly rectify any defects or discrepancies discovered during the inspection process to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know standards.
• Operate all tools and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
• Verify that vehicles comply with all safety regulations and standards mandated by regulatory authorities.
• Confirm the full functionality of safety features such as airbags, seat belts, lights, and brakes to ensure optimal performance and occupant protection.

Required Experience

Candidates for the PDI Stockyard Technician position should possess 0-1 years of relevant experience in vehicle inspection or automotive maintenance.
