Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer Saudi Nationals OTS

About the Role

Afaq - Warehouse Branch is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in Jeddah or Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves implementing and maintaining critical IT infrastructure at the assigned site, reporting directly to the IT Manager. The successful candidate will serve as an escalation point for IT Support Technicians and remote teams on technical issues, contributing to operational excellence and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain IT infrastructure across both software and hardware environments.
• Ensure continuous availability of networking and computing systems during production hours.
• Maintain all IT equipment at optimum performance levels, meeting departmental KPIs and SLAs.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking fundamentals, including routers, switches, wireless APs, structured cabling, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and TCP/IP.
• Liaise with global SME teams for the installation and maintenance of networking and server infrastructure in accordance with Amazon standards.
• Conduct site audits to ensure adherence to Amazon IT and Health & Safety guidelines.
• Manage site-level projects in collaboration with business teams, fellow engineers, and remote support teams.
• Act as the primary contact for assigned projects, keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
• Create, review, and execute change management requests and project plans.
• Validate and verify the technical execution of projects.
• Manage equipment availability through continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction efforts.
• Identify root causes of operational issues and process inefficiencies.
• Maintain and create policies, procedures, processes, and documentation.
• Provide guidance and support to IT Support Technicians on tickets and action items.
• Mentor and train technicians, serving as a technical contact for remote support teams.
• Support the recruitment of new talent into OpsTechIT (once trained).
• Support customers across multiple buildings and remote sites.
• Represent IT in site meetings and act as an escalation point for business and support functions.
• Manage contractor and supplier relationships, communicating technical issues and Amazon standards.
• Purchase equipment in line with policies, budgets, and operational demand.
• Contribute to the paid on-call schedule for high-severity incidents.
• Produce weekly reports detailing metrics and work performed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates must be Saudi Nationals.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering is required.
• Demonstrated technical depth across networking, systems administration, and infrastructure management.
