Technician (Kitchen)

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Technician (Kitchen) to join their team in Mecca, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves responding to and resolving guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring the smooth operation of kitchen equipment and other hotel systems. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues with minimal supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, and visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
• Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
• Read standard blueprints and electrical schematics concerning plumbing and HVAC.
• Perform highly complex repairs on physical property, electrical, plumbing, mechanical equipment, air conditioners, refrigeration, and pool heaters, ensuring compliance with company standards and local/national codes.
• Troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems, including lamps, HVAC equipment, and internet devices.
• Utilize the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Train and mentor other engineers as necessary and perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities.

Required Skills and Expertise

• Advanced ability to read standard blueprints and electrical schematics for plumbing and HVAC.
• Above average engineering operations skills and strong general mechanical ability.
• Proficiency in at least three of the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building management.
• Solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials for repair and maintenance tasks.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance, energy management, and other systems.

Qualifications and Physical Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant technical role.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and heavier objects with assistance.
• Capability to move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders.
• Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Proficiency in using computers to enter and locate work-related information.
