About the Role

Hire Fellows is seeking a skilled and adaptable Cake Decorator to join its production team. This full-time role involves bringing customized cake designs to life while supporting baking operations. The successful candidate will ensure every order meets consistent standards of quality, presentation, and freshness within a fast-growing company operating across multiple markets.

Role Overview

This position is part of the production operation responsible for transforming customer orders into finished cakes, adhering to quality, consistency, and food safety standards. It is a cross-trained role where the primary focus will be on cake decoration and finishing, with flexibility to assist with baking tasks based on daily production needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform piping, drawing, finishing, and other decorating tasks on assigned cakes.
• Support senior decorators with complex or high-volume cake orders as required.
• Assist with baking-line activities, including mixing, portioning, baking, and other production tasks.
• Consistently follow standard recipes, decorating guidelines, and production processes.
• Transition between decorating and baking sections based on production volume and operational requirements.
• Ensure cakes are completed accurately and meet required quality and presentation standards.
• Maintain consistent decorating and baking techniques across different orders.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards at all times.
• Monitor ingredients and materials, reporting shortages or production issues to the relevant section lead.
• Collaborate with the wider production team to ensure timely completion of orders.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient working environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant role.
• Comfortable transitioning between decorating and baking tasks based on production requirements.
• Consistent and reliable technique with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Reliable, flexible, and willing to support different areas of production when needed.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to consistently follow standardized recipes, processes, and quality guidelines.
• Passion for baking, cake decorating, and creating high-quality products.
