About the Storekeeper Role at Shangri-La Jeddah

Shangri-La Jeddah, situated on the new Jeddah Waterfront along the shores of the Red Sea, sets a standard for luxury hospitality in the city. We are seeking a Storekeeper to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role is designed for individuals with 0-1 years of experience who are prepared to contribute to the efficient management of hotel supplies.

Purpose of the Role

The Storekeeper is responsible for the comprehensive management of hotel supplies and materials purchased through the Purchasing Department. This position ensures that all incoming goods are properly checked, accurately recorded, securely stored, and efficiently distributed to the relevant hotel departments. A key aspect of the role involves maintaining precise inventory levels and implementing proper stock rotation practices.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive and verify goods against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Confirm the quantity, quality, and condition of all incoming items.
• Maintain accurate inventory and stock records.
• Store goods appropriately, adhering to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) or FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) principles.
• Issue items based on approved store requisitions.
• Monitor par and minimum stock levels, informing the Purchasing Department as needed.
• Conduct regular stock counts and investigate any discrepancies.
• Coordinate effectively with the Purchasing, Receiving, and Cost Control departments.
• Ensure the storeroom is kept clean, organized, and secure at all times.

Qualifications and Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proficiency in English, encompassing both written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience of 0-1 years in a role such as Storekeeper, Purchasing Storekeeper, Receiving Clerk, or a similar position, with a preference for experience within a hotel environment.
• Good understanding of Purchase Orders, delivery notes, requisitions, and inventory documentation.
• Strong numerical and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
