About the Role

GREENLAND GROUP is seeking a Firewatch / Hole Watch for AYTB SA in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is critical for maintaining workplace safety during high-risk activities such as hot work and confined-space entry. The position requires 2-5 years of experience in a related field.

Key Responsibilities

The Firewatch / Hole Watch is responsible for continuous monitoring of work areas to identify and mitigate potential hazards. This includes ensuring the availability of emergency equipment and responding promptly to incidents.

• Conduct fire and safety checks before, during, and after hot-work activities.
• Monitor welding, cutting, grinding, and other spark-producing operations for fire hazards.
• Ensure fire extinguishers and firefighting equipment are readily available at the worksite.
• Watch for sparks, flames, smoke, combustible materials, and other potential fire risks.
• Maintain continuous communication with workers inside confined spaces.
• Monitor confined-space entry and exit, and maintain an accurate personnel count.
• Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, and emergencies to the supervisor or HSE team.
• Adhere to PTW (Permit to Work), JSA, toolbox-talk, and site safety procedures.
• Assist in emergency response, evacuation, and rescue procedures as instructed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, complying with company and HSE requirements.

Hole Watch Specific Duties

As a Hole Watch, the individual will oversee personnel working in and around confined spaces, including manholes, tanks, pits, and other openings. This involves maintaining communication, controlling access, and initiating alarms during emergencies.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess practical experience in safety monitoring and emergency response within industrial settings.

• 2-5 years of experience in a Firewatch or Hole Watch role.
• Demonstrated understanding of fire hazards and safety protocols.
• Proficiency in monitoring confined spaces and managing entry/exit procedures.

Required Skills

• Strong observational skills to detect fire hazards, gas leaks, and unsafe conditions.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with workers and reporting incidents.
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Knowledge of Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and toolbox-talk procedures.
