Senior Cost Control Engineer

About the Role

UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking a Senior Cost Control Engineer. This full-time role involves managing project budgets, monitoring expenditures, and analyzing cost variances to ensure projects are completed within financial constraints. The Senior Cost Control Engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to implement cost control procedures and provide insights for optimizing resource allocation and mitigating financial risks, contributing to project profitability and adherence to financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project budgets, collaborating with project managers and stakeholders for accurate cost forecasting and effective resource allocation.
• Monitor project expenditures against budgetary constraints, conducting regular analysis to identify discrepancies and potential cost overruns.
• Conduct thorough variance analysis to understand root causes of deviations from budgeted costs, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed reports on project financial performance, including budget vs. actual analyses, cost forecasts, and financial projections for senior management and stakeholder review.
• Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities impacting project costs, implementing strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
• Establish and enforce cost control procedures and policies to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints and financial regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to align cost control efforts with project objectives and address financial challenges.
• Implement cost tracking systems and expense approval processes to optimize cost management and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Continuously evaluate and improve cost control processes, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide guidance and support to junior cost control staff, fostering continuous learning and development within the team.
• Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.

Required Experience

• Candidates should possess 8-10 years of relevant experience in cost control engineering.
