About the Role

Saudi Aramco is seeking an Architect to join the Engineering & Design Division within the Community Services Technical Support Department. This full-time role involves providing senior-level architectural and technical expertise for the assessment, planning, design, renovation, and enhancement of Community Services facilities. The position supports multidisciplinary coordination, compliance, value engineering, and the delivery of sustainable and human-centered facilities.

The Engineering & Design Division

The Engineering & Design Division provides multidisciplinary engineering, architectural, and technical services for Community Services facilities and programs. This includes the assessment, planning, design, renovation, enhancement, and construction support for residential, recreational, administrative, educational, public-use, and support facilities. The division focuses on promoting resource efficiency, low-carbon and circular economy principles, accessibility, placemaking, public realm quality, and lifecycle performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior architectural engineering expertise for new construction, renovations, expansions, rehabilitation, and enhancement of Community Services facilities from initial assessment through closeout.
• Perform architectural assessments of existing facilities to evaluate condition, functionality, code compliance, accessibility, and suitability for operational requirements.
• Develop architectural concepts, space programs, planning criteria, design requirements, and technical solutions that optimize functionality, user experience, and lifecycle value.
• Review architectural studies, drawings, specifications, and design packages for technical adequacy, completeness, constructability, and compliance with company requirements and international standards.
• Lead the resolution of complex architectural and facility-related technical issues, considering safety, functionality, aesthetics, cost, schedule, and sustainability.
• Coordinate architectural requirements with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, interior design, landscape, and other disciplines to achieve integrated design solutions.
• Perform design optimization, value engineering, and constructability reviews to identify opportunities for cost avoidance and improved performance.
• Apply sustainable and climate-responsive design principles to improve energy and resource efficiency and support low-carbon objectives.
• Incorporate circular economy principles through efficient material use, adaptive reuse, durability, flexibility, and waste reduction.
• Promote human-centered design, accessibility, placemaking, and high-quality public realm principles.
• Evaluate emerging global trends, technologies, materials, and best practices related to sustainability, decarbonization, and smart buildings.
• Provide architectural technical support during construction, including review of submittals, evaluation of design changes, and resolution of site issues.
• Assess deviations, nonconformances, and unforeseen site conditions, developing appropriate architectural corrective solutions.
• Offer technical consultation to Community Services organizations and management on facility development, renovation strategies, and architectural standards.
• Contribute to the development of architectural guidelines, design criteria, standard details, and technical practices.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced architects and engineers.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering from a recognized and approved program is required. An advanced degree in a related discipline is preferred.
• A minimum of fifteen years of experience in architectural design, engineering, and development of building and community facility projects is required, including at least five years in a senior technical role involving complex multidisciplinary facilities.
• Extensive knowledge of architectural planning, building design, space programming, building envelope systems, materials and finishes, accessibility, life safety, sustainability, facility renovation, and adaptive reuse.
• Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, industry standards, and recognized architectural design practices.
• Demonstrated experience in evaluating existing facilities, identifying deficiencies, and developing recommendations for rehabilitation, renovation, expansion, replacement, or new construction.
• Proven experience in reviewing architectural design packages and resolving interdisciplinary design interfaces with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, interior design, landscape, and other engineering disciplines.
• Experience in value engineering, constructability reviews, design optimization, and development of cost-effective technical solutions.
• Knowledge of sustainable and resilient design principles, including resource efficiency, low-carbon design, lifecycle performance, circular economy principles, and climate-responsive design.
• Understanding of human-centered design, placemaking, public realm quality, accessibility, and user experience in community facility planning.
• Ability to provide technical consultation to management, operating organizations, project teams, consultants, and contractors, and to communicate complex architectural matters clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical reports, design recommendations, and management presentations.
• Knowledge and practical experience with Building Information Modeling, computer-aided design, and architectural design and visualization tools is preferred.
• Professional registration or architectural licensure is preferred.
