SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering is seeking an Architectural Inspector for a full-time position. This role is crucial for ensuring that all architectural and fit-out works adhere to approved designs, specifications, and quality standards.

Role Overview

The Architectural Inspector is responsible for the oversight and verification of architectural and fit-out works. This involves ensuring compliance with project quality standards, approved drawings, specifications, and relevant authority requirements. The role requires close collaboration with various multidisciplinary teams to achieve high-quality finishes, correct installations, and timely completion of architectural elements in line with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect architectural and finishing works, including partitions, ceilings, raised floors, doors, fire-rated elements, waterproofing, and façade interfaces.
• Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, method statements, specifications, and quality standards.
• Review and respond to Work Inspection Requests (WIRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and Requests for Information (RFIs) within specified timelines.
• Monitor workmanship, finishing quality, and installation practices on site.
• Coordinate with MEP, civil, and life safety teams to resolve interface issues.
• Support fire stopping inspections, access control coordination, and white space fit-out activities.
• Maintain inspection reports, snag lists, photographic records, and close-out documentation.
• Assist in snagging, punch list preparation, and verification of defect rectification.
• Participate in testing, commissioning readiness, and final handover inspections.
• Escalate quality, safety, and interface concerns to senior engineers and project management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in architectural inspection, fit-out, or finishing works.
• Experience in data centre or mission-critical projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with QA/QC processes, WIR/MIR workflows, and inspection procedures.
• Knowledge of fire-rated systems, finishes, and building materials.
• UPDA certification is preferred, with Grade A being an advantage.

Required Skills

• Strong coordination abilities.
• Proficient documentation skills.
